DH Type III Catalog – README

This directory contains two tables covering solar flares events that occurred between December 2006 and January 2025, with source longitudes within |55^°|.

Tables

1. gC5flare_TypeIIIFlx_200612-202501_web.csv

This table contains all DH type III radio bursts associated with >C5 class soft X-ray (SXR) flares. The HTML version of this table is: DHtypeIII_cat_web.htm

Columns include:

• Type III burst properties: Date, start time, end time, duration, peak flux, integrated flux
• SXR flare properties: Date, start time, peak time, flare class, flare flux, flare source
• Time_wrt_pflr (min): SXR flare peak time minus type III peak time (in minutes)
• CME properties: CME space speed and CME width
• SEP properties: Peak proton flux in >10 MeV channels (pfu);
  • 0 = confusing / unclear association
  • -1 = no SEP event
• GLE occurrence: -1 (No) or 1 (Yes)

2. gC5_noTypeIII_200612-202501_web.csv

This table contains all >C5 class SXR flares for which no DH type III burst was identified. The HTML version of this table is: SXRflare-noTypeIII_web.htm

Columns include:

• SXR flare properties: Date, start time, peak time, flare class, flare flux, flare source
• Closest DH type III (if any): Peak flux and Time_wrt_pflr (min)
• CME properties: CME space speed and CME width
• SEP properties: Peak proton flux in >10 MeV channels (pfu);
  • 0 = confusing / unclear association
  • -1 = no SEP event
