Subject: BACKSIDED Halo CME on 2001/03/18
Status: O
LASCO observed a full halo CME on 2001/03/18, first seen in C2 as a
bright front over the E limb at 02:26 with full coverage by 03:26.
Having examined the EIT data from this time and the previous day it
has been determined that the CME was backsided. A bright feature
can be seen ejected along a streamer in the images - this is a
seperate and small frontsided event whose timing happenned to
coincide. Large faint loops can be seen in EIT difference movies
moving outwards from about 02:00 to 02:35
Best wishes,
Gareth Lawrence.
