Subject: Halo CMEs 3001/03/18 and 2001/03/19
Status: O
LASCO observed two halo CMEs over the weekend. The first was
first seen in C2 at 02:06 UT on 2001/03/18, and the second at
05:26 UT on 2001/03/19. The first is a significantly brighter
and faster event than the second, and from an initial
inspection of the data both would appear to be filament-
associated rather than flare associated. Also, both appear
to be full halo events but that awaits confirmation at this
stage.
Further details including UCMEO entries, movies and images
will follow shortly.
Best wishes,
Gareth Lawrence.
