LASCO and EIT observed a full halo CME yesterday, 2000/11/01. The event
was first seen in C2 as a bright loop above the SE limb at 16:26 UT, and
later developed into a full halo at all PA. The measured plane of sky
speed was 558 km/s at PA 110 (SE limb).
EIT observed a filament eruption and two-ribbon flare to the E of AR 9214.
The activity extended all the way from the active region to the limb, and
was centered at about S17 E39. The eruption began at about 15:36 UT. This
activity is probably related to the halo CME.
Images and movies of this event are available at the LASCO ftp server:

Best wishes,
Simon Plunkett.
