The first of two events on 2000/10/02.
Faint full HALO CME event. Event observed in both
EIT and LASCO instruments.

LASCO and EIT observed two (2) full halo CMEs on, 2000/10/02. Using
the NOAA coding there will be two separate alert messages. We appologize
for the alert message delay.

The first event was visible in C2 at 03:26 UT as a faint loop front with
material at all position angles.  The speeds through the C2 and C3 fields
averaged to 465 km/second, measured at PA 171 degrees. 

EIT observed a flare with small wave at 02:48-03:48 UT near central
meridian in the southern hemispere at location [S7.3; E4.6]. GOES shows a
C4.1 X-ray flare at 02:48 UT from AR9176. This flare is probably
associated to the HALO CME event seen in LASCO.
