Subject: Full Halo CME on 2002/07/16, backsided
Status: O
LASCO observed a very fast, bright full halo CME on 2002/07/16
A faint front was first seen in C2 in the SE at 16:02 UT; by
16:30 the C2 occultor was surrounded by a very bright front.
The front first appeared in C3 at 17:18 UT, with full coverage
of the the occulting disk.
EIT running difference movies clearly show substantial backsided
emission around a large part of the disk. Since frontsided activity
was minimal around this time this event has been determined
backsided.
