LASCO and EIT observed a full halo CME on 2002/05/07. The
event was first observed in C2 at 04:06 UT as a faint loop
front over the E limb; by 05:26 UT the C2 occulting disk
was surrounded. The front first appeared in C3 at 05:18 UT
with full coverage of the C3 occultor by 06:42 UT. The
plane of sky speed of the front was measured as 611 km/s
at PA 102 (NE) with slight deceleration through the
coronagraphs' fields of view.
The CME was most probably associated with an M1.4 X-ray flare
in AR9937, which EIT observed between 03:48 - 04:12 UT with
peak emission at 04:00. GOES observed the flare between
03:37 - 04:07 UT with peak emission at 03:46. SEC does not
assign the flare to an active region at the time of writing,
but the EIT movies show quite clearly a flare in AR9937,
centered on S08E28. Both an EIT wave and dimming were observed
in association with this event and were primarily directed
towards the N and E

however the event is very faint and shows up particularly
poorly in C3. Please note also that the considerably brighter,
faster fronts that subsequently appear in the NE and SW are
both entirely unrelated, both to this event and to each other.
