Subject: Full Halo CME on 2002/01/01, most probably backsided
Status: O
LASCO observed a full halo CME on 2002/01/01. A wide, bright
loop front was first seen off the W limb in C2 data at 19:31
UT and this had developed into a full halo CME by 20:30 UT.
The W limb front first appeared in C3 images at 19:42 UT and
was a full halo CME by 21:42 UT.
Frontsided activity was minimal in both EIT and GOES data, and
there is some evidence of a far-sided event in EIT running
difference movies. This event has therefore been determined
backsided.
