LASCO and EIT observed a partial halo CME on 2001/11/01. The
event was first observed in C2 at 22:30 UT as a very narrow
loop front over the SE limb; by 23:30 UT this front spanned
about 213 deg around the C2 occulting disk from PA 177 to PA 33.
The front first appeared unambiguously in C3 at 23:42 UT with
maximal coverage of the C3 occultor by 00:18 UT. The plane
of sky speed of the front was measured as 338 km/s at PA 268
(W) with very small acceleration through the coronagraphs'
fields of view.

The CME was most probably associated with an M1.1 X-ray flare in
AR9672 between 21:38 and 23:59 UT with peak emission at 23:52 UT.
EIT observed this flare between 21:48 and 23:48 UT, with peak
emission at 23:12 UT. SEC places the flare at N12W23. Neither an
EIT wave nor a dimming was observed in association with this event.
