LASCO observed a full HALO CME in the Corona today, 2001/04/10. This
event was first seen in C2 at 05:30 UT with a bright front emerging over
the South Pole. The event developed to a full HALO at all position angles
very quickly and into the C3 field at 05:42 UT. With only 2 points in the
C2 field and averaging through C3, the plane-of-sky speed was determined
at 1678 km/sec at PA 248. The large loop front was seen with a bright
core following over the South Pole. This is probably related to the event.
Protons levels increased and particles are seen in the white light images.

EIT observed activity starting in AR9415 at [23S; 9W] on disk at 04:48 UT
with the area saturating at 05:00 UT. A flare was seen with wave spanning
the disk. GOES reports an X2.3 flare of AR9415 begining at 04:50 UT.
This activity is most likely related to the event in Lasco.
